Shirkers

My soundtrack for Shirkers is an eclectic mix of enchanted beats, ominous drone sounds and dreamy melodies. Some of the tracks of this soundtrack are in a way remixes for two songs by the amazing artist, WeishShirkers is Sandi Tan’s debut documentary feature.  A film about film making and the time capsule that is Singapore. The film is a Sundance winner – picking the award for Best Director in World Cinema Documentary in 2018.

Scaffolding

The most minimalist soundtrack I ever did with Gentle & slow drones.  Though there’s almost no music in this film the score is nominated for “best music” in the Polish academy awards. This wonderful film,  Directed by Yair Matan, won the Haggiag award for Best Israeli Feature Film at the JFF, 2017.

Mr. Gaga

Mr. GAGA is a documentary film about the world-known choreographer Ohad Naharin,  directed by Tomer Hayman.  My soundtrack appears in it alongside other pieces of music that was used in Naharin’s works.  Here are some examples from the original Mr. gaga soundtrack:

Week 23

Week 23 is a unique documentary by Ohad Milstein. It’s the most minimalistic soundtrack I ever composed and created for the cinema.  A very clear theme, made by synths and samples. The film uses a lot of thoughtful voice-overs, and many shots of snowy landscapes (partly shot in Switzerland ). It is the ultimate foreground ambience for the moody music I made.

Moon in the 12th House

I had the rare privilege to work with the Israeli Camerata Jerusalem orchestra and its outstanding conductor, Shmuel Elbaz, who also teaches in our Sound and Music for Cinema program at the Sapir college. This is Dorit Hakim’s debut feature film about a pair of estranged Israeli sisters who reunite under difficult circumstances. This soundtrack is a combination of classical music and electronics.

Princess

I’m pleased to announce the release of “Princess“. Tali Shalom Ezer’s debut feature. My work here presents a totally new approach to scoring. Lots of guitars and even a pop song written together with Elite Avner Marriott who also contributes the vocals.
The soundtrack is the Latest award winner of the “best music” category at the Haggiag competition in the Jerusalem Film Festival. The film also won for best female actor, cinematography and best film!
Here’s the theme song:

Bethlehem

www.Ishaiadar.com
I am very pleased to announce a new film I soundtracked, Yuval Adler’s debut feature, “Betlehem“. This is my most electronic soundtrack to date: harsh electronic noises blended with soft pads and orchestral arrangements. This soundtrack is somehow in contradiction with the tone and atmosphere of the film, which could be described as “Middle-Eastern with a raw touch”. “Bethlehem” tells the story of the complex relationship between an Israeli Secret Service officer and his teenage Palestinian informant, bouncing back and forth between conflicting points of view.
Bethlehem is turning out be the Israeli film to watch in 2013: it is the winner of the Venice Days section in the Venice Film Festival, the winner at the Haifa film festival (best movie and best first actor) and the big winner in the Israel Academy Awards (the “Ofir” award), sweeping the best movie, best director, best leading actor, best script, best editing and best casting categories. Yeah!!

Before The Revolution

The soundtrack of Dan Shadur’s debut documentary, “Before The Revolution”, is an eclectic work that combines war drums with mysterious electronic motives, and even some rock ballads too!!!
This 60-minute documentary tells the story of the prosperous and well-connected Israeli community in Tehran before the Islamic revolution of 1979. This is a unique soundtrack for me, because the music is “out front”, and not a background canvas as it is usually is.
